I have been an executive assistant to US founders for six years, and I work their hours rather than mine. The job is judgement more than admin. Knowing which email you should see and which one I should answer, which meeting is worth your Tuesday morning, and when to tell somebody no on your behalf without it costing you the relationship. I handle inbox, calendar, travel, expenses and whatever else is currently landing on you. I keep a running list of what is waiting on you and I send it once a day, which most founders tell me is the single most useful thing I do.
