How is the hourly figure worked out?

Monthly salary times twelve, divided by the hours you work in a year: 52 weeks at the hours a week you put in. Every week counts, because that is what being on a salary means.

Why is the freelance rate calculator's answer higher?

Because a freelancer is not paid for holidays, illness or the gaps between clients, so the same income has to come out of fewer billable hours. Using this page's figure to quote freelance work is one of the commonest ways to under-price it.

Where does the dollar figure come from?

The European Central Bank's daily reference rate, the same one every converted number on this site uses. It is an estimate, not a quote: what you actually receive depends on your bank or transfer service.

Does this include 13th month pay?

No. In the Philippines 13th month pay is a separate legal entitlement of employees, worked out from basic salary earned in the year, and it has its own calculator here.
